MINI TUTORIAL – LEVELS BEFORE EXPORT
How to get the optimum colors and contrast in post-production for the web and print medium.
I use Photoshop as many do, but this technique should work the same in any software you choose.
I do not want to get all geeky about this, but in short: Nothing in your picture should be pure black (0) or pure white (255) when it is finished. Even if you have exposed the image to be very contrasty. The web and print media can’t handle it. And some social media sites and others crop of the histogram to save file sizes to save space.
To make this a short hint, you should always add this levels adjustment to your images before exporting them.
